Arkwright Engineering Scholarship

Georgina Coverdale from Year 12 has been successful in being the first female student from Cardinal Hume to secure an Arkwright Engineering Scholarship. Arkwright Engineering Scholarships identify, inspire and nurture future leaders of Engineering and technical design. The scholarship scheme in one the most prestigious of its type in the UK. To achieve this award Georgina had to undergo a rigorous external selection process, aimed at selecting only the highest-calibre students following her application whilst in Year 11.

Georgina successfully passed an extremely tough exam with flying colours, submitted examples of her outstanding Design & Technology coursework and then impressed a panel of interviewers made up of members of the Smallpiece Trust and leaders from the Engineering industry.

We would like to congratulate Georgina on her phenomenal performance in achieving the award and look forward to seeing her progress in Sixth Form to enable her to achieve a successful career within the field of engineering.

Cardinal Hume became an accredited Arkwright School in 2019 and we look forward to more of our students benefitting from this partnership.
