Cardinal Hume Catholic School’s Class of 2025 have received excellent GCSE results again this year.
While Progress 8 scores are not available for this cohort, the strong Attainment 8 score of 53.00 suggests another year of outstanding progress for the young people of Cardinal Hume. Headline attainment figures remain strong, with the number of pupils achieving a grade 5 or above in both Mathematics and English far exceeding local and national averages. It was also a delight to see more pupils than ever before achieving the top grades of 9 to 7. Moreover, performance in the English Baccalaureate was exceptionally strong, with 55% of the year group achieving this challenging measure.
Headteacher Brendan Robson commented, “I am very proud of the achievements of this year group. They are an exemplary group of young people, and I commend them today. It is a privilege to see them progress to the next stage of their studies, apprenticeships or employment. Their resilience, determination and aptitude have been outstanding, and they deserve these outcomes. I wish all of them a happy and healthy future as they embark on their next steps, either in Sixth Form or their other chosen pathways.”
The school warmly welcomes external applicants to join their outstanding Sixth Form
Cardinal Hume’s Sixth Form has places available for September 2025 and applications are welcome from students who have not previously attended the school. Head of Sixth Form, Daniel Gribbin said, “There is often a misconception that those who have not attended in Years 7 to 11 will not get a place, but this is not the case. Our Sixth Form is open to applications, and we warmly welcome students from other schools every year to study here.”
Anyone interested in studying here is warmly invited to call in for an informal discussion. Please contact us beforehand to arrange an appointment.
