Guvna B visits Cardinal Hume

Isaac Charles Bortey Borquaye, better known as Guvna B, is a rapper, author and broadcaster from Custom House, London. He has released 10 albums, 2 books and has presented on the BBC and Sky Sports News. We were very lucky when he visited Cardinal Hume this term to share his music and life journey with our year 9 pupils. The story of his faith, music and life experiences gave a strong message to the pupils. Using music together with a Q and A session, he was able to spread the message that no matter who you are or where you come from, God loves you. As part of a special weekend in St Georges ‘alive church’, Low Fell, Guvna B invited our students to listen and embrace the Christian message of hope. It was a real gift to have him in our school as he explored how themes such as loss present challenges to us all and how his faith was the lighthouse in the storm. Knowing how difficult it has been for our school community this year in losing Tomasz… he was able to bring hope and light to our hearts through his music.

A great afternoon and a wonderful evening was had by all.
