School community comes together to remember
This year’s whole school remembrance service took place on Friday 10th of November. The entire school gathered in the atrium with pupils all displaying the respectful and solemn conduct befitting such a service.
The whole community including all staff and pupils was present with numerous pupils taking an active role in the service including Head Prefects from the 6th form, House Captains and Year 12 students who had recently visited the Auschwitz extermination camp in Poland. These pupils read reflections and prayers. It is fair to say that reading in front of the entire school is a testing undertaking, however all performed their role with confidence and clarity.
Cadets and Scouts were resplendent in their uniform representing the services with pride, the choir and instrumentalists performed beautifully, adding some flair to the proceedings. It was a special service which was a real showcase of the talents, good character and exemplary conduct of our pupils and a true reflection of our school’s culture.
