Re: Isle of Arran Field Trip for Geography AS Level Students
As part of your son/daughter’s A level course the Geography Department are organising a field trip to the Isle of Arran from Monday 8th February to Friday 12th February 2016. The trip will assist your son/daughter’s understanding of the course by enabling them to put some of the theory they have learnt into practice.
As part of the trip all transport, meals, accommodation, insurance and field work teaching is included in the trip and will be paid for by the school, the approximate cost of the trip is £300 per student. We would however appreciate it if you could pay a voluntary contribution of the cost (£50) by the end of January 2016.
The students will need to be suitably prepared for working outdoors. We would recommend that they have plenty of warm clothing, suitable footwear, suitable trousers (not jeans), hat and gloves. The Centre do have a supply of walking boots and ruck sacks which students can hire for the duration of their stay for £3. Other items such as waterproofs and Wellingtons are free. Students will be accompanied by school staff. Further information regarding departure and return times and a kit list will be provided shortly.
I would be grateful if you could complete the reply slip below and medical consent form attached and return to school. If you have any queries with regard to the trip please do not hesitate to contact me.
