The year 10 and 11 girls played Durham Johnston in the semi-final of the County Cup after school yesterday.
The girls put up a fantastically brave fight through the game with the game ending 3-3 at full time.
With 2 and a half minutes of extra time remaining, Durham Johnston scored a scrappy goal which was a big blow for the girls. The team re-grouped and showed great character to keep battling until the end. The hard work paid off, with Chloe Turnbull scoring from a corner with 4 seconds left on the clock!
Both teams scored their first 5 penalties but unfortunately Durham Johnston went on to win the shoot-out in sudden death.
It was a massive disappointment for the girls, but the positivity the team showed after the match was unbelievable. They were an absolute credit to the school.
