Dear Parents/Carers,

As the school will close for our Easter break at 3.15pm on Thursday, I’d like to draw your attention to a couple of messages.

Lateral Flow Testing
Children are encouraged to continue using the test kits over the holidays. Please ensure that a test is completed on the Sunday night/Monday morning of their return to school. If students have been unable to collect their home testing kits this week, please contact Main reception on 0191 4877638 and alternative arrangements can be made.

Track and Trace
Current guidance encourages schools to remain contactable to allow for effective ‘Track and Trace’ following any positive Covid results. If your child tests positive using the LFT kits you must inform NHS https://www.gov.uk/report-covid19-result and you must also arrange a confirmatory PCR test. Positive LFT results recorded between now and midnight on Saturday 3rd April must be emailed to school immediately using info@chs.bwcet.com. A member of staff will contact you on receipt of the email.
Additionally, if your child develops Covid symptoms between now and midnight on Saturday 3rd April you must inform school via email on info@chs.bwcet.com. Again, a member of staff will contact you on receipt of the email.

With barbers opening over the holidays, please be reminded of the rules regarding haircuts. Hair styles and colours must be deemed socially acceptable by the school. No unnatural hair colours are permitted. Long hair must be tied back in a ponytail or plaits at all times. No extreme haircuts including lines or extreme differences in length. No Skin fades with ‘no blade / zero’ and no hair should be shorter than a No 2. Any braid style that exposes the scalp is NOT allowed.
The PE department have sent out an additional letter regarding the PE uniform after the Easter please follow this link https://www.cardinalhume.com/parent-letter-pe-kit/ to remind yourself of the new arrangements.

Yours faithfully

Mrs A. Riley
Deputy Head Pastoral
