At Cardinal Hume Catholic School, we have been working on the BBC School Report. The BBC News School Report gives 11-16 year-old students in the UK the chance to make their own news reports for a real audience. The students have helped develop their journalistic skills to become School Reporters.

On the 16th March, schools take part in an annual News Day. The school publishes the video on the website and the BBC aims to link this in on the day.

Last year more than 1,000 schools across the UK took part on School Report, on the biggest ever School Report News Day.

Year 9 pupils have tackled some challenging topics that they feel passionate about.

The topics the pupils have covered range from: conspiracy theories, the death penalty, the impact of Brexit and the importance of music on young people.

We hope you enjoy watching our reports! Make sure you tune in to the BBC report on the 16th March to see what other schools have been up to.
