We are organising a skiing trip to Voss, Norway during February Half term 2017.
Skiing offers many qualities and experiences to pupils. Not only will they have an opportunity to learn or improve skiing skills, they will also learn to appreciate and respect a different culture, a new environment and the importance of working and living together.
I have booked with a company called Voss ski, in partnership with Dawson and Sanderson.
The cost of the visit is £925 and this price will include:-
- Return flights to Bergen and coach transfers to and from resort (great reduction in usual travel time)
- 7 nights Full Board Accommodation
- Fully comprehensive travel insurance including medical, redundancy cover, travel delay
- Ski lessons – 24 hours of ski tuition (4 hours per day)
- Resort lift pass for 6 days
- Hire of skis, boots, poles and helmets for 6 days
- In resort customer service representative
- Evening entertainment e.g. bowling, disco.
- School hooded top
Extra costs that you will incur independently are: purchase or hire of ski suit, goggles, gloves, ski socks, sun cream, lip balm and thermals. A small amount of spending money for: snacks whilst there, food in the airport and souvenirs.
There will be a parents’ evening nearer the time of the trip which will be attended by representatives from both the tour company and a ski clothing hire company who will provide useful information and the opportunity to place orders for suitable clothing and accessories if needed.
A deposit of £100 is required to reserve a place on the trip. This is to be paid by Friday 26th February. Information about further payments will be given once deposits have been paid.
Please note that, once made, payments to the tour company are non-refundable.
If you would like your child to take part in the skiing trip, please complete the reply slip below and return it to the school with cash or a cheque for £100 (cheques made payable to Cardinal Hume Catholic School), as soon as possible as places are limited and will be offered on a first come first served basis. Please note that the school reserves the right to refuse pupils permission to take part on the ski trip and that bringing a first deposit in will not guarantee your child a place until it has been agreed by staff.
