Subject Information

This course leads to an Applied A Level in ICT.

Students will experience a work placement to see how ICT is applied in the work environment. The units studied will equip students with the skills and knowledge required to study ICT further or enter the world of work

Assessment
There are 2 units that are externally examined on the course:

  • How Organisations use ICT
  • Working to a Brief

All the other unit's are assessed by portfolio evidence, these are assessed
internally by ICT teaching staff and moderated externally by a visiting Moderator.

OPPORTUNITIES

Students will gain a qualification that will give them access to the numerous ICT based courses that are on offer at Universities. Such courses include:

BSc Multimedia Computing
BSc Forensic Computing
BSc (Hons) Software Engineering
BSc (Hons) Business Computing

In addition it will give students the knowledge and skills relevant to working in an ICT environment. Careers Include:
