At Cardinal Hume Catholic School we absolutely love Science and strive to share a passion for fizzes, pops & bangs that will not only entertain but get you to question your concept of what science is really all about.
The evening is absolutely free and will be taking place on the 15th of March from 6:00pm till 8:00pm. This is an event designed for ages 10-18 and their families. There will be limited tickets available for each key stage on a first come, first serve basis. Visiting students must have a parent or guardian with them.
The evening is split into three equally exciting parts:
- Science Fair: Get stuck in and explore a number of interactive stalls put on by the students and staff of Cardinal Hume Catholic School, Durham University, Newcastle University, local businesses, Famiy Learning and the Royal Society of Chemistry, as well as a planetarium with guided talks.
- Chemistry of Space: This is a show like no other. We will navigate through a series of questions about space from how do we propel ourselves to distant galaxies to how did life begin?
- Firework Display: The grand finale. Watch a firework display on the back yard to celebrate the end of the evening.
This evening is part of the celebration of British Science Week (12th-16th March) with events being held in school throughout the week, and is being generously funded by the Royal Society of Chemistry.
Places are limited. Please reserve your tickets by contacting the school reception (firstname.lastname@example.org). Include your surname and the number of tickets you require. You do not need to pick up these tickets – we will keep them at the door for you. Students of Cardinal Hume can obtain tickets at break times in the atrium in the lead up to British Science Week.
We do hope you can join us for this exciting event.
